I was lucky enough to handle this exquisite antique porcelain brush washer pot while at Kate Malone’s Kent studio.

It’s truly inspired me to create something in its honour. This stoneware dish and vase were what I created. I am fascinated by the mythology and symbolism behind pomegranates so my piece also has pomegranate style berries and it’s highlighted by a copper carbonate wash and underglaze pencil decoration. Bringing antique inspiration to my 2024 works.
